Simplicity at the input end doesn’t mean simplicity at the skill end. Because you only have one control, timing carries all the weight. Drifting through a corner means committing at the right instant, and boosts are a finite resource you choose when to spend rather than something you hold down. Burn a boost on a straight where you had nothing to gain and you’ll be missing it on the corner exit that actually decides the position. Winning races earns you new cars and performance upgrades, and the events get faster and tighter as you go, with global leaderboards tracking where you land.
Getting to the Front
- Boost on corner exit. Acceleration out of a turn is worth more than top speed on a straight you were already going to win. Save the boost for the moment the road opens up.
- Take the drift early. Committing a fraction before the apex keeps the car pointed down the next straight, while a late drift washes you wide into the outside wall.
- Upgrade grip before speed. A faster car you can’t place accurately loses more time in corners than it gains anywhere else, especially on the tighter night circuits.
- Learn one track properly. Repeating a single circuit until you know where every corner arrives teaches the timing that transfers to all the others.
