How to Play Blocky Adventures

Fifty levels, five worlds, one small square hero with a surprisingly complete move set. The scenery swings from icy caverns to volcanoes as you progress, and somewhere past the visible list sits a secret mega-level reserved for players who get that far. The moment-to-moment goal is simple enough — pick up the energy orbs, get past the enemies, reach the end — but the tools you’re given say a lot about how the levels expect to be solved. You have a ground jump, a second jump you can trigger in mid-air, a dash on X or Shift, and a wall climb that works by sliding down a surface and jumping off it. Nothing there is optional decoration.

Enemies come in two flavors and they demand different reactions. Patrolling ones walk a fixed line, so they’re a timing problem: watch a lap, then move through the gap. Flying ones cut across your jump arcs, which makes them a routing problem: the safe path often runs under something you’d rather leap over. Layer Speedrun mode on top and it changes character again: the cautious route that kept you alive is now too slow, and you’re chaining a dash into a double jump to skip sections you used to walk. That gap between “I finished it” and “I finished it fast” is where most of the game’s replay value lives.

Tips to Clear All 50 Levels

  • Hold your second jump in reserve. Spending it the instant you leave the ground throws away most of its reach. Let the first arc top out, then press again to stretch the gap as far as it goes.
  • Dash out of a jump, not into a wall. The dash covers distance fast, which makes it superb over open air and dangerous near a ledge you meant to land on. Aim it where you can already see the far side.
  • Sliding is a mechanic, not a mistake. When you hit a wall, don’t panic-jump. Let the slide start, then push off — that’s how vertical sections are meant to be climbed.
  • Learn the level before you race it. Speedrun runs go badly when you’re still discovering the layout. Clear a level once at a safe pace, then attack the clock knowing exactly where every orb and enemy sits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Blocky Adventures free to play?

Yes, it plays free in the browser with no download or account required.

What is Speedrun mode?

It’s a timed way to replay the levels. Same layouts, but now the clock is the opponent, which pushes you toward dash-and-double-jump shortcuts instead of careful platforming.

Is there anything after the last level?

There’s a secret mega-level beyond the fifty standard stages, described as the toughest thing in the game. It’s meant for players who have already cleared the five worlds.
